A short bio.

Philiphe is a design leader who sees the bigger picture.

Two decades in, the work spans branding and visual design, UX, and design systems — much of it inside complex software.

For the aviation industry, flight planning and scheduling software, and the tools pilots work with. Followed by business intelligence, data and analytics, a long stretch of it leading design system and art direction.

Philiphe works from the belief that an experience has to live up to the expectation it sets. That brand, poise, messaging and tone of voice belong to the same job as visual execution and user task completion. That covers a lot of ground in practice. From flows and conceptual models, down to brand work and styleguides, to feature design and the gritty details of responsive frameworks, polishing icons, motion principles and design systems.

Philiphe's grounding in the early years came in graphic design, branding, photography, print and web design. Not a developer by trade, but never far from the code. Early on that meant hand-written HTML/CSS. Today it means prototyping ideas, building things outright, and speaking the same language as the engineers who ship them, with AI closing the gap between what can be imagined and what can be built alone.
